This notice explains how The First Gadget uses information you share when browsing, chatting or placing an order.
What we collect
For enquiries and orders, you may give us your name, contact details, delivery address, product choices and payment confirmation. The website keeps your cart contents in your browser's local storage so they remain there between visits. Our hosting provider may process technical access and security logs when you visit the site.
Guided chat
With your consent, the guided chat records your selected questions and answers, the page or product where it started, session times and whether you opened customer service. Name and email are optional. If you continue anonymously, we leave those two fields blank; information you choose to type into a message may still identify you. We do not intentionally add your IP address to the chat record.
Why we use it
We use this information to answer questions, confirm prices and stock, fulfil orders, handle returns and warranty requests, follow up on enquiries and maintain necessary business records. We do not use the guided chat to add you to a marketing list. We do not currently run advertising or analytics trackers on this website.
Who may receive it
Authorised shop staff can access enquiries and chat records. Delivery providers receive the details needed to deliver an order. If you choose WhatsApp, you review the prepared message before sending it and WhatsApp's own privacy terms apply there. We do not sell customer information.
Storage and retention
Guided chat sessions are kept for up to 90 days from their latest activity and then deleted automatically. Order and payment records are kept only as long as needed for customer service, accounting and applicable legal obligations. Access to the chat administration area is restricted to authorised staff.
Your choices and contact
You can browse without starting a chat and can continue a guided chat without giving a name or email.
